About this model
The 2026 Can-Am Outlander MAX Backcountry 1000R is a two-up ATV for rough terrain, hunting and long backcountry trips. A 101 hp Rotax 1000R V-twin drives a CVT with extra-low range, with a Visco-4Lok locking front differential. It comes with 30 in. XPS Iron Force tires on beadlocks, full underbody and A-arm protection and a 3,500 lb winch. Ground clearance is 13 in.

Compared with the MAX XT-P it is set up for traction: 30 in. tires instead of 27 in., 13 in. of clearance versus 12 in. and full underbody protection, but with simpler SHOWA shocks and less suspension travel. Compared with the X mr it seats two instead of one and has no snorkel or relocated radiator for deep mud.
