Cars from Canada to Georgia

We ship from our own warehouse in Montreal, by sea to the port of Poti, with transit times taken from our own shipping records. Below is how the route actually runs, what it costs per category, and what waits for you at Georgian customs.

How the route to Poti works

Cars and larger powersports travel by sea from Canada to the port of Poti. This is our main sea route, with more than thirty shipments behind it. From Poti the unit continues across Georgia, or in transit to Armenia and Azerbaijan.

If you need speed rather than the cheapest rate, BRP powersports can go by air instead — 6 days on average. We quote that per order.

How long does sea freight to Poti take?

Sea shipments measuredFastestAverage9 in 10 arrive within

Across our last 23 sea shipments the cargo took 44 days on average, nine consignments in ten arrived within 55 days, and the fastest landed in 24 days. Customs clearance on arrival comes on top of that.

These are measured figures from our own shipping records, not estimates. Plan against the "9 in 10 arrive within" column rather than the average — vessel schedules, transhipment and available cargo space move the individual dates.

Who you are buying from

The seller is Alpha Auto (9487-1373 Québec Inc.), a licensed vehicle merchant in Quebec, OPC permit 2109609-1 — we buy the unit in our own name at a Canadian dealer or auction, not as a broker passing you along. Everything goes through our Montreal warehouse, where we shoot photo and video with the VIN visible before loading. Minimum order is one unit: we work with private buyers and with dealers. We have moved over 700 units out of Canada since 2022.

What we do not promise

The factory warranty does not survive export from Canada. BRP (Can-Am, Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo, Lynx) states the warranty is valid only in the country of purchase; Toyota and Lexus cover vehicles registered and normally operated in the United States and Canada. That is the manufacturers’ rule, not ours, and it applies to every exporter. We do not offer a warranty of our own — what we do is sell new, unused units with full documentation and a visible VIN, and help you order genuine parts.

Customs clearance in Georgia is your side of the deal, not ours, and the rates above are for orientation only. We do not act as customs agents and we do not quote duty as part of our invoice.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to ship a car from Canada to Georgia?
Sea freight from Montreal to the port of Poti is $2,200 for a car. Powersports go at $500 for an ATV, $1,200 for a snowmobile and $2,000 for a 2-seat SxS, per unit, in US dollars. Georgian duty, excise and VAT are paid separately by the consignee.
How long does shipping from Canada to Poti take?
Across our last 23 sea shipments: 44 days on average, nine in ten within 55 days, and the fastest was 24 days. Customs clearance on arrival comes on top of that.
Can a unit be shipped faster than by sea?
Yes, for BRP powersports: by air it averages 6 days instead of 44. That route costs more, so we quote it per order rather than listing it. Air freight for a car is quoted individually as well.
Who handles customs clearance in Georgia?
The consignee does, personally or through a customs broker. We cover the Canadian side and hand over the full export package: invoice, export declaration and title. The rates on this page were checked on 2 September 2026 — verify them with customs or your broker before you commit.
Can the car go on to Armenia or Azerbaijan from Poti?
Poti is where our sea route ends. From there the unit continues across Georgia, or in transit to Armenia and Azerbaijan. The onward leg and clearance in the destination country are handled on your side — we provide the Canadian export documents that go with the cargo.
Does the factory warranty still apply after export?
No. BRP warranty is valid only in the country of purchase, and Toyota and Lexus cover vehicles registered and normally operated in the US and Canada. Exporting ends it, and a local service centre does not change that — it is the manufacturers’ rule and it applies to every exporter. We do not offer a warranty of our own; we do help you order genuine parts.
