HMWPE and aluminium plates protecting the engine case, A-arms and floor. Rocks and stumps hit the underside first, and a holed crankcase means a new engine rather than a repair, so utility and mountain machines get protection from day one.
What to check when choosing. Full-coverage plates are heavier and trap a little heat around the CVT: for hot, sandy work choose a version with vent slots. The Maverick R shares almost nothing with X3 accessories: the platform is new, the mounting points differ, and a similar-looking X3 part will not fit.
